But now, O Lord, You are our Father; we are the clay, and You are our potter; we are all the work of Your hand.

Isaiah 64:8 (ESV)

Have you ever thought of yourself as a piece of clay? This verse describes us as exactly that!

The Hebrew word for potter means “to form or fashion by squeezing into shape.” As we are convicted by the Holy Spirit of our sin and choose to repent and live in obedience to Christ, God is molding our hearts into conformity with His will, just as a potter controls and shapes clay, making it into something beautiful.

God made us in His own image and desires that we show His glory to those with whom we have contact.

Let’s allow His Word and the Holy Spirit to shape and mold our hearts, helping us to become more like Him each day and allowing our life to be one that displays the character of Christ to those around us.
