The Lord will Fight for You | Exodus 14:14

The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent. Exodus 14:14 (ESV) Friend, do you feel like you are all alone in this battle called life? The people of Israel felt that way, too! In the context surrounding this verse, they were trapped between the Red Sea and Pharaoh’s army. They cried to the Lord for help but didn’t believe He could really take care of them. Full of distrust and fear, they accused Moses of deceiving them by leading them into the desert to die. The Hebrew word for fight means to ‘overcome or prevail’. If you remember the story, you know that God overcame Pharaoh’s army and protected His children in a very exciting and miraculous way. The battle in your life may not be as big as theirs, but if you are a follower of Christ, you have this promise that the Lord will fight for you as well. You can turn your problems over to Him and wait while He works for you. Won’t you trust Him today with your battle? God is the Supreme Authority | Psalm 46:10

Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! Psalm 46:10 (ESV) Would you say that you are in control of yourself and your family? We like to think we can run our own lives, but this verse reminds us clearly that God is the One in charge! The Psalmist tells us to take time to be still and praise God, who is the supreme authority. The word exalt in Hebrew means ‘to be lifted high’. God says that He will be lifted high over the whole world; He will subdue all hearts no matter how evil, to Himself! As we remember what God has done in the past and see the way He is working in our lives right now, may we take the time to be still before Him and adore Him as He deserves, never forgetting His love and grace toward us. You are Our Potter | Isaiah 64:8

But now, O Lord, You are our Father; we are the clay, and You are our potter; we are all the work of Your hand. Isaiah 64:8 (ESV) Have you ever thought of yourself as a piece of clay? This verse describes us as exactly that! The Hebrew word for potter means "to form or fashion by squeezing into shape." As we are convicted by the Holy Spirit of our sin and choose to repent and live in obedience to Christ, God is molding our hearts into conformity with His will, just as a potter controls and shapes clay, making it into something beautiful. God made us in His own image and desires that we show His glory to those with whom we have contact. Let’s allow His Word and the Holy Spirit to shape and mold our hearts, helping us to become more like Him each day and allowing our life to be one that displays the character of Christ to those around us. Your Hands Fashioned Me | Psalm 119:73-74

Your hands have made and fashioned me; give me understanding that I may learn Your commandments. Those who fear You shall see me and rejoice, because I have hoped in Your word. Psalm 119:73-74 (ESV) Does it fill you with awe and wonder to realize you were made by the power of God? He created us in His own image in such a marvelous way. The psalmist is asking for discernment and insight from the One who made him so that he might learn God’s commands and become more like Him. The Hebrew word for fear means "to be in awe or reverence of someone." Do you have reverence for the One who made you? Let’s choose each day to study God’s word, so we may learn to know and obey Him as the Holy Spirit convicts our hearts. As we do that, our awe of Him will grow, and we will be filled with joy because of the hope we find in His word. May each one of us reflect more each day the image of God!
