Don’t you love to be on the receiving end of gracious words? I certainly do!
Strong’s Concordance tells us the Hebrew word for gracious is no’am. It describes speech which is pleasant, agreeable, suitable or delightful. Sounds wonderful, doesn’t it?
Would anyone say that the words you use fit that description? I must admit, there are times my words do not.
We also find the Hebrew word for “health or healing” listed in Strong’s. Marpe’ means “medicine or remedy,” literally a cure! Proverbs 31:26 (ESV), says, “She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.”
Did you realize that wise, kind and gracious words might just be the cure for the hurting soul of someone you know?

Our words have a lot of power! They may cut someone deeply or give healing to a heart filled with hurt. May we each strive to walk with Jesus so closely that His wise words fill our hearts. Then our conversations with others will be pleasant and bring delight to their hearts, a remedy to cure the hurting soul.
