The LORD is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
The LORD is good to all, and his mercy is over all that he has made. Psalm 145:8-9 (ESV)
Does someone come to mind when you hear the word ‘gracious’? That word in Hebrew means ‘virtuous, pleasant and good’, which is in sharp contrast to what is harsh, sharp, or bitter.
Our God is the ultimate example of not only graciousness but patience, love, and the giver of mercy to all He has made.
What wonderful characteristics for a follower of Christ to display as well!
As we consider all that God has done and continues to do for us, may these character qualities become more obvious in our own lives.
Let’s look for opportunities to show these godly characteristics, so others might see the joy of the Lord as our hearts overflow with grace and mercy toward those around us.
