The righteous shall live by faith. Rom 1:17b
Have you ever thought about what it means to be righteous? The word righteous is used of a person whose way of thinking, feeling, and acting is conformed to the will of God, one who is upright and virtuous.
How does one become righteous? The Bible tells us the only way to be declared righteous by God is through faith in Christ, believing that He lived a perfect life, died on the cross to make payment for our sin, and rose again.
This verse tells us true faith will be demonstrated by our actions.
If I fear something completely irrational and the Bible tells me not to fear, I’m not demonstrating faith.
I can believe all the promises that He will take care of me, but if I don’t live by them, I’m not being true to my beliefs.
Won’t you make a commitment today to choose to follow Christ rather than live in fear or defeat? He will honor your obedience and give you a life filled with joy!
